I arrived back from Birmingham, AL yesterday after a nice week long vacation. I am also now the proud owner of a signed copy of The God Delusion and was
interviewed by the BBC...pretty exciting! For those of you that didn't know, I attended The God Delusion debate with Professor Richard Dawkins and Dr. John
Lennox at the Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center in Birmingham on October 3rd. I must say that I was pretty upset with the format. The moderator would read a
passage from Dawkins' book and have Prof. Dawkins elaborate on the excerpt. Then, Dr. Lennox was allowed to criticize the passage with no chance for a
rebuttal from Prof. Dawkins. With a format like this, I'm not even sure why the Fixed Point Foundation invited Prof. Dawkins! It seems like they could have
accomplished just as much with out him, had they stuck to this format. However, I was very impressed by Richard Dawkins' immediate reaction to this
ludicrous attempt to "debate." After Dr. Lennox's first comments, Dawkins paused and took time to counter his arguments before moving on to the
next topic. Anyway, I have notes on the event, but you may listen to the entire recording at Richard Dawkins' website:

some pictures that I took after the event (as pictures were not permitted inside the auditorium):

snapped a picture or two of the line for the book signing after the event. This was also just a portion of a sold out crowd that was there to support atheism
and science. Although the majority of the audience (judging by applause) was there for the Christian side, which was expected, I'm glad to see this many
like-minded individuals supporting the side of science and reason.
